This heifer was sold in last years FBA sale. Due to a family health issue she is now being resold this year.
She will be 6 months bred at the time of the sale,
Thank you to Terry Edmonson and family for purchasing this top end heifer at the 2023 sale. The University of Florida (UF) is hosting this year's Florida Brahman Field Day and they are making tremendous progress working with other breeders in Florida by sharing genetics to use in their Brahman herd. Stressing fertility, carcass quality, gentleness and overall usefulness we thought it would be a good idea to send one of our heifers that matches what UF is doing. 867 is packed with performance and fertility. Adding in a big dose of carcass quality and she is petty complete. She has 3 consecutive generations of Maternal Merit Award winners in her pedigree. 4 total animals. Showing the = or (=) symbols. Which means she comes from a line of highly fertile cattle that calve every year with above average weaning weights. 867's dam, =BB Ms Pearl Manso 736 is 7 years old and has produced 5 consecutive calves. She is sired by BB Mr. Berch 632 who is also sired by a Maternal Merit sire, (=) SCD Didor Esto 623. 632 was haltered as a calf, shown a few times, then turned out with cows as a 2 year-old. When he was removed from cows he went to Joe Butt and was hauled in the fall and the following spring. Earning enough points to finish the year 5th for the ABBA's Grey Show bull of the year. Then he went back to breeding. 632's sire 623 and grand sire 302 were also ABBA Grey Show Bulls of the Year. Owned by Sam Duplantis. 867's maternal grand dam. =BB Ms Berch's Pride 650 is 11 years old and has produced 9 consecutive calves. (=) MDS Loxey Pride 364 who has been used the last several years through AI at UF and has earned his way into being a Maternal Merit Sire by having 3 daughters qualify. Lastly 867's sire, NMSU Dubo Cherra 1136's dam produced 9 consecutive calves when she was 10 years old. 1136 scanned a whopping 4.48% IMF (Intermuscular Fat) when he was 11 months old. 1136 has also been used by UF through AI and Kempfer Cattle by natural breeding and AI. This heifer is also naturally very gentle. This is the third heifer sired by 1136 we have sold at a public auction through the FBA sale. The first 2 topped their sales. 867 has the potential to do the same thing. BW 72 lbs., WW 466 lbs., WW Index 103. Don't miss an opportunity to invest in a long term, useful female. She is gentle enough to be haltered at any time.
